Regression

Ever have one of those weeks as a mother in parenting when you are so READY for a break?? The kids have been extra challenging this week. Consistency is exhausting. EXHAUSTING sometimes. So lots of "disciplining", yelling, frustration... asking of forgiveness for yelling...God keeps reminding me I do NOT have a handle on things the way I think I do. :) Anything good comes from Him and is undeserved and unearned I am learning. So I'm tired and I don't want to talk anymore about my not so great week as a mother. :)

Funny things Isabelle asked me today:

" If God sees everything, does He have 100 eyes?"

"Will we poop in heaven?"

" Will we have buns?"

So so many questions from her inquiring mind. Someday I'll miss this.

Memorial Day Weekend

Having way too much fun!!

Christian and Landon... " playing with rocks" says Christian of this picture.

They're about 7 months apart... Landon is older.

Logan and Isabelle, Logan's 8 months older. This weekend we went to visit my fav friend Katie who lives an hour and half away. The kids had a most awesome time as you can probably imagine. Her boys are very sweet and the kids play well together. Monday was a lazy day for us and we made hotwings for the first time and they were SO good!! We fried them then put them in the sauce. Cookie's makes really good wing sauce and we wondered why we ever paid so much for Buffalo Wild Wings...
Random funny things Christian has said lately, I was getting some food for him, can't remember but he shouts " YEAH BABY!!" I don't know where he got that. And today Isabelle has had to apologize to him for wronging him a couple times and he says so nicely " that's ok....(then not so nicely) DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!"
Today Isabelle told me there a was cardinal in the tree on the right.... and I looked and there was, I was surpised she knew the bird and it was in the tree on the right... so the bird story is boring but I typed it for my own benefit. She also asked if it was male or female.

More Sibling Stuff

While my kids do love each other and tell each other that and hug and play nice a lot of the time... as you saw in the last post, they still have their rivalings.
Two more things before I forget.
Sunday before church, kids acting up, Daddy says..." ok, WHO wants a spankin?!!"
Isabelle- " Christian!"
Christian- " Isabelle!"
Last night Christian got out of bed, he is a repeat offender in this matter and I warned him when I left the room, you will be spanked if you get up, understood??
He got up while I was downstairs and Mitch was making his lunch. Mitch-"Christian why are you up?" " Because I love you" As they walk back to the room it is clear there will be a spanking. Walking by Isabelle, who's "reading" on her bed, she says without looking up in that multitasking woman way to Mitch " It's in my room." The "it" is the spoon.

Forever Stamps and Sibling Dynamics

First of all, maybe I'm the only person who didn't know this till I went to http://www.usps.com/, but even though stamps went up from 42-44 cents you can still use your forever stamps... FOREVER.... I then googled it to make sure and something I mailed last week after the 11th made it just fine... I did not know this and bought 2 cent stamps to make up the diff... at least I can save those for another time...
My next story is about the kids, what a shock, but they provide entertaining material. Isabelle has had some issues spilling things the past couple weeks. Last week she spilled her cereal, this week her plate and baked beans. Last night she dropped a noodle on the floor and Christian is swift to point out with huge eyes in a serious tone, " Izzy also spilled her cheerios and her milk and her beans on the floor last night" Nothing like throwing sister under the bus, right? The funny part of this story comes last week. It had a been a couple days since the cheerio incident and Isabelle was getting a drink out of the fridge, we must've said something like " be careful" and CHristian had to bring up " Izzy spilled milk and her cheerios" To which Isabelle, still in the fridge says " Christian, how many times do I have to hear it?!"

Nasty Cracked Crusty Heels BE GONE!

I don't know what this ranks on the beauty database and I don't care. I got this at walmart, the box has been updated since this pic I think, but still, the visual makes you more apt to read this. This stuff works!!! I have tried every kind of powder, lamsil, lotion, anti fungi cream, ok maybe not EVERYTHING but those things listed I have tried. And then I came across this, it has tea tree oil, I'm a big fan of that by itself, antifungal. Also has glycolic acid for exfoliation. THis stuff is awesome, really. I have struggled with nasty dry, dead skin layerd, snagg the sheets at night heels and this stuff worked in less than a week!!! I also used a swedish foot file right after my shower to help speed things along. I haven't used it for a few days and now will probably just use it every now and then to keep the gross heels from coming back...
the bottomline, I went from snagging the sheets to Mitch commenting my feel actually felt soft, SOFT I say!!! ok that's all. ;) FLEXITOL Heel Balm. the picture on the front is gross... but it works.

Isabelle's 5 year Dr apt

Just an update on Isabelle's growth stats. She is in the 50% for both height and weight 39# and 42 3/4 ". She gained 5 lbs and grew 3 and half inches since last year. She also was very brave for her remaining two shots and lead test. She started crying the day before when I told her and said she was getting hot. Poor thing. The agreement was if she was still she would get ice cream, that didn't happen last time so no ice cream. Sounds mean but they did get happy meals, but no ice cream. This time, she cried but held still, she would start to freak then say " ok ok" and calm down. After the finger prick which scared her the most she thanked the nurse with a tear stained face and said with determination. " This time I'm going to get ice cream!!" She endured and reaped the benefit. I was so happy for that she pulled through and chose to control her fears. I think it's a good life lesson so that she won't let fear paralize her and sometimes in life you have do something a little painful or scary but the reward is well worth it and you get sense of " I CAN do it!!" God does give us the grace to get through the day He has planned for us.
For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jer 29:11
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Phil 4:13
